Brendan lands the lead in a new kids’ TV series!!!!
However, we’re not able to share the details yet -- rest assured, as soon as we are able we’ll fill you in. The exciting thing is the new show will air in Canada!!! Filming will begin in October, just in time for Brendan’s 16th birthday.
Brendan is heading to Vancouver to film The Hub’s Dead Body
He is excited to report that he will be guest starring in The Hub’s new anthology The Haunting Hour. His episode, based on Goosebumps’ R.L. Stein’s short story, is entitled Dead Body. Publicity is just starting to circulate the web!!! Filming for Brendan begins in September.
Shakespeare, Shakespeare and more Shakespeare ...
The Freewill Shakespeare Festival is over this year. Brendan had a GREAT time in Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing.
As for the National Shakespeare Festival, Brendan was named the Most Outstanding Male Performer and his duologue with Roland Messeck won so it was a great weekend in Toronto!!! Most of the Celsius gang participated and won every category they entered in -- nice work! Stay tuned for more updates.

Brendan books the lead in a new Nickelodeon Pilot filming in LA
We honestly have not had time to give you all an update and we are sorry! We are still ‘on the road’ as Brendan landed a lead role in a pilot filming down here in the good ole US of A. It’s all pretty hush hush as pilots often are and as soon as we get the green light, we’ll give you all an update!!! **Unfortunately, Brendan’s series did NOT get picked up by Nickelodeon so he is back auditioning again!
Too Busy to Update!!!
Brendan has been screen testing, auditioning and attending callbacks in LA, Toronto and Vancouver for the last few weeks and we’ve been way behind in our updates. Sorry! Stay tuned as pilot season is drawing to a close and we’ll have time to catch our breath and give you all an update. In the meantime, Brendan was on Breakfast Television again and was interviewed by the Sherwood Park News. I don’t think either are available on line just yet. Brendan is busy rehearsing for the National Shakespeare Festival with Shakespeare in Action (in between trips to Vancouver, Toronto and LA). He and all of his teammates made the finals!!!! So he will be spending the first weekend in May there representing Alberta as they determine the top Shakespeare actors in Canada!!!!
Brendan will be back with Freewill Players this summer in both of their productions: Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing. Brendan is thrilled to be working alongside some of Edmonton’s finest actors. You can find out more about Freewill Players here.
Young Artist Awards 2010
Brendan was nominated for two Young Artist awards for his work in Christmas in Canaan and The Assistants. He and his dad travelled down to LA for the awards ceremony last week. You can read more about the Young Artist Awards here.
Vancouver Film School Stand Out Program
Brendan was chosen from applicants all across North America to attend a special two day conference in Vancouver in March. Not only was he selected, but he was one of the top 5 applicants and is featured here. You can also read his interview here.
Night At The Movies
This project has been postponed until further notice. Brendan has been too busy to set this up!!!! Brendan will be holding auditions for this, his first short film, in the fall. Contact us if you wan to see a breakdown. More information will be available towards the end of the summer!
Tooth Fairy
Our Tooth Fairy premiere party was a lot of fun!!! We took over a local Edmonton theatre - thanks for all your support guys!!! Brendan flew to Vancouver last fall to work with Dwayne Johnson on this feature. You can read all about it here.
Christmas in Canaan
Brendan was in Vancouver this fall filming Hallmark’s Christmas movie. The show stars Billy Ray Cyrus and Brendan is thrilled to be playing his son. The show aired in the US December 12, 2009. We’ll let you know when it comes to Canada!
Celsius Youth
Celsius Youth Theatre is busy working on their new season. Right now it’s top secret but we’ll let you know as soon as anything is confirmed! The Assistants
The Assistants is on TeenNick now. Brendan guest stars as Barry Collins in this TV series focussing on four assistants working for a Hollywood Producer. Right now, you can find out more here www.the-n.com.
Kate Twa’s Scene Study 2009 wraps
Brendan finally has a moment to breathe out here in Vancouver and to catch the Bard on the Beach circuit. His performance as Warren in This Is Our Youth was very convincing. “Brendan continues to develop as a dramatic actor while maintaining his comedic timing.” He’ll spend the rest of the summer auditioning and catching up on his movie watching before returning to Edmonton to direct Celsius Youth Theatre’s The Tempest. Titus Andronicus and Comedy of Errors wrap for the season
Brendan had a great time down at Hawrelak Park in Freewill Players’ Summer Festival. He was VERY excited to play his dream ‘youth’ Shakespeare role, Young Lucius, in Titus Andronicus directed by Marianne Copithorne. He was also thrilled to work with Jeff Page as the thief in Comedy of Errors.
Celsius Youth Theatre finishes another Successful Run!!!!
Celsius Youth Theatre’s Evening of One Acts went very well. Brendan played Spencer Hathaway in Daniel Belland’s Haunting of Hathaway House. He also performed in up and coming Canadian playwright Calla Wright’s premiere of An Unnatural Turn. Her latest play, Word Problem, was selected to be read at the Citadel’s Teens at the Turn Festival where Calla and Brendan’s other friends Josh, Kelsey & Daniel played in Romeo and Juliet. Brendan directed his second production, Fourteen, starring Morgan Donald, Daniel Belland and Claire McCourt during the second show with this theatrical company he founded with his two friends, Calla & Daniel. Beneath the Ice’s Edmonton run is over!!!!
It’s hard to believe Beneath the Ice is over already!!!! Brendan was thrilled to work with Director, Tracy Carrol and fellow actors, Lisa Truong and Allison Wells, on the world premiere. Brendan played the role of David in the much loved Fringe Theatre Adventure’s production. The show was produced by The Cookie. Tracy and Brendan were featured as the Celebrity Chefs on City TV. Edmonton Musical Theatre over for the year!!!
Brendan played Austin Powers in the EMT Final show at the Stanley Milner Library. Sorry if you missed it. Brendan highly recommends Edmonton Musical Theatre and is favourite teacher, Michele Miller. He is looking forward to seeing his their big show ‘A Little Night Music’. Check out their website for tickets.
The Secret of the Nutcracker and Freezer Burn: The Invasion of Laxdale released on DVD !!!!!!
As most of you know, Brendan had a supporting role in CBC’s 2008 Christmas Special, The Secret of the Nutcracker. You can watch the trailer on You Tube here. We had a huge party at our house to watch the Television Premiere but you can watch it in the comfort of your own home any time!
Tom Green’s Freezer Burn: The Invastion of Laxdale was just released on DVD so you can rent it at Roger’s or buy your own copy at many different locations. For more information, visit this Canadian show’s website.
A Pickle
A Pickle still continues to dominate on the film festival circuit. A Pickle screened February 24th as part of the Reel 2 Reel Film Festival in Vancouver. The short is also played at Hollywood’s International Family Film Festival, San Francisco Bay Area International Children’s Film Festival, the Reel Shorts Film Festival in Grand Prairie and the Kids First Film Festival. A Pickle has also already screened at the New York City Short Film Festival, The Chicago Film Festival and the Continental Drift Film Festival. Whew!
